HELLO TUMBLR WORLD! i don’t know where i have been. BUT! I have some very exciting news, WE ARE MOVING!!! Kody and I have seriously looked at so many places in the last 6 months (he says its only been a few, but NO! its been so many) and fiiiiiiinally, we found one! We live in a studio in a big victorian now that we both really love, but we really have been wanting a one bedroom. we have so much stuff piled up in here, its pretty much impossible for it to not look cluttered. The place we found has TWO BEDROOMS though!! we know the people who are moving out of it and when they gave their 30 day notice to the landlord they referred us so we basically had zero competition! we’re moving in mid-february and i’m getting so excited!
stay tuned for updates! and hopefully more postings all-together.
and to keep you all around, heres an adorable picture of the cat on this amazing antique chair I bought today.

this isn’t a great picture, but I love our little tree this year. Last year, we got a slightly bigger tree, about 7 feet. This year it’s around 6. We love pulling out all the ornaments that we have combined to make our own set. Most of mine I took from my mom and dad and Kody has done the same. And we’ve bought a few on our own to add to them and plan to add more every year. i’m so proud of myself because I have done pretty much ALL of my shopping already! I absolutely love shopping for other people, its such a great feeling. the tree looks much cuter now with all the pretty wrapped presents underneath it. oh, and by the way, I MADE that tree skirt. I found the tutorial on pinterest and tackled it and I love how it turned out. So nice making something that I know we will have forever. Here’s me making it:

it was seriously SO tedious, but I really love it. Hope everyones holiday season is going well!

i’ve been having the strangest of dreams lately…I wake up confused about what was real life and what I had dreamed. The dreams are beautiful and intriguing, but they are also confusing and making it very difficult to focus on other parts of my day. They are causing me to second-guess what I am doing with my life right now.
I don’t want them to go away.

one night, this was all i felt like and it was SO GOOD.

crackers, parmesan cheese, and avocado with olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top.
and I swear, those plates make my food taste better.
Kody’s sweet aunt Betsy and her four (FOUR!) little boys who live in alaska (ALASKA!) sent us a package in the mail a couple weeks ago along with a text message instructing us to open the present as soon as we get it and not wait til christmas. I had no problem with this! so the package arrived, and inside was the sweetest advent calendar that they had made for us! A string with 24 little pouches hung along it.

So on the first of december, we were about to open the first present and I was complaining about feeling a cold coming on and that we didn’t have any good tea to soothe my throat. BUM BA BA BUMMMM!

Can you believe it?! Gypsy Cold Care! the best kind of coincidence.
The second day brought us a cute little square of ghirardelli chocolate with mint which we split in half and enjoyed immediately.

The third day was this cute little pocket-sized container of natural all-purpose balm that was handmade in Alaska where they live.

Day four was an adorable little orca whale magnet thats now living on our fridge.

And today is day 5 and we got some great chapstick from the same brand as the balm.

Such great little gifts! so excited to see what all the next days bring. I promise I’ll do a better job and post them each day.
Thank you Betsy! (and Michael, Gregory, Fishy, and John-John.)

Nikki’s kittens Daisy and Mo(ntana)…these cats live as one…seriously a couple of the cutest things i’ve ever seen to watch interact.

here’s and older picture of me with them:

SO CUTE.
our dear friend nikki and her kids sofia, roxie, and charlie hosted such a fun dinner to celebrate the coming of this season and eat with people we love. I brought asparagus that a sautéed with garlic and olive oil, then topped with balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese. She made really yummy white beans with rosemary and then had lots of good appetizers out like cheese and olives and crusty bread. and lotsss of wine. kody and I went over around 5 and my brother, Joaquin and my sister, Lucy came a bit later. Joaquin brought wine from the winery he works at and lucy made pumpkin bread.

the ever-adorable charlie and my kody hangin’ out sorting and eating jo jo’s for dessert.
It was such an amazing night surrounded by some of my favorite people in the whole world and after dinner, we all snuggled up on the couch with our wine and the little kids and watched such a heartwarming documentary called Buck about the man who The Horse Whisperer was based on.
Perfect evening.
my lunch on sunday :

deeeeelicious veggie and cheese sandwich on my new limoges plate.
..a little word of warning, these plates will be making lots of appearances; i am SO head over heels in love with them.

on saturday night, Kody and I went to an art show of my sisters. Her friend Rachel just started an event production company called RYPE and this was the first event she put on. It was so great to see Hannah’s art (and that of the other three artists there) and be able to support her. My favorite painting of hers is the one in the top right corner in that top picture. I was immediately drawn to it and I told her i’m gonna buy it from her. The colors made me all giggly cause its pink and white and exactly what I want on my wall.

me looking goofy with kody. (and rachel sneakin’ in)

me with david pretending to pour his drink on my head…funnyyy

so proud of my beautiful sister and all the creative things she is doing in her life.
